8 Reasons Why Barack Obama and Joe Biden Need A Bros Trip to Canada

The rumours are true, Barack Obama and Joe Biden were spotted, together, at a bakery in Washington and we are simply swooning. Sure, they are American, but that doesn’t mean those of us up here in the Great White North cannot admire them too.

Who doesn’t love a good bromance?!

While we loved following the many adventures of Barack Obama and Joe Biden during their time in office, this new sighting has us praying for future adventures, which is why we think Obama and Joe Biden need a bros trip to Canada.

Here are 8 Reasons Why Barack Obama and Joe Biden need a Bros Trip to Canada.

1. We Have Poutine. Nuff said.

Here are 15 Reasons Why Obama and Joe Biden need a Bros Trip to Canada... 1. We Have Poutine. Nuff said.

Poutine was created in Quebec, but over the years it has become known as a Canadian dish. It is gooey and crunchy and packed with flavour. Obviously, when Barack Obama and Joe Biden run for the border and end up in Canuckia, they need to hit up Montréal or Québec City for some poutine.

2. We Have Some Spectacular Golf Courses, And They Are All Trump FREE!

Obama and Joe Biden can play golf without running into Trump!

We have lost count of the number of golf courses in Canada. Let’s just say that there are a lot. The best golf courses in Canada include Cabot Links (Inverness, NS), Fairmont Jasper Park (Jasper, AB), St. George’s Golf & Country Club (Etobicoke, ON), National Golf Club of Canada (Woodbridge, ON), Capilano Golf & Country Club (West Vancouver, BC), Beacon Hall Golf Club (Aurora, ON), and Barack Obama and Joe Biden won’t find Trump at any of them!

There needs to be a tourism campaign about this…

3. We. Have. Ice Cream.

We all know how much Barack Obama and Joe Biden love ice cream. There is plenty of evidence on the interwebs. Naturally, we think the best ice cream is in Canada. Hello, we have WINE ICE CREAM (Auk Island Winery in Newfoundland). The chocolate-dipped ice cream on Île d’Orleans in Quebec City is a must. Kawartha Dairy in Ontario and Cows in Prince Edward Island. And Fiasco in Alberta – which is technically gelato, but so damn good.

Let’s just say we have some damn good ice cream.

4. They Can Go On Bros Hikes!

Hiking in Canada

Okay, a bros hike is the same as a regular hike, but we still think Barack Obama and Joe Biden would go head-over-heels for the hiking trails in Canada. If they wanted something simple where they’ll have exposure to people and local life, then Stanley Park in Vancouver is a good choice. If they, however, want to experience Canada’s best #NaturePorn then they should venture to Gros Morne National Park (Newfoundland), Bruce Peninsula National Park (Ontario), Fundy Trail (New Brunswick), or Lake Louise Tea House (Alberta).

Of course, there are so many more options. Obama and Biden can hit us up for suggestions any time!

5. Craft. Beer.

Craft Beer in Canada

Craft beer is something Canada does very, very well. There are over 1,000 craft breweries in Canada, with the majority based in Ontario and Quebec. Honestly, it is hard to choose the best ones. We love to hit up Banff Ave Brewing when we’re in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Main St Brewing in Vancouver, Bushwakker Brewing in Regina, Barn Hammer Brewing in Winnipeg, Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery in Barrie, Noctem Artisans Brasseurs in Quebec City and À l’abri de la Tempête on Îles de la Madeleine.

6. We Invented Hockey, So… Barack Obama and Joe Biden Should Enjoy A Game In The Homeland

Hockey in Canada

Technically speaking, the game of hockey that we all know and love today was invented in Montreal, Quebec. Yeah, our French-Canadian citizens are pretty damn amazing. Which is probably why the Montreal Canadians are one of the best hockey teams in Canada. Oooh … we may have started a hockey war. Seriously though, if you want to truly experience a Canadian hockey game, watch the Montreal Canadians play against the Boston Bruins, in Montreal. It is an experience of a lifetime.

While we love the NHL, Canada also has some fabulous minor league teams – those games are nailbiters!

7. Bonhomme & The Best Winter Carnaval, Ever!

Nobody celebrates winter better than the province of Quebec, so it makes sense that one of the best winter carnavals on the planet can be found in Quebec City! From February 1, 2019 – February 17, 2019, Quebec City will be filled with winter magic and things like Caribou (a mulled wine and hard liquor drink), Ice Canoe races, Beard contents, Snow sculptures, Bonhomme and more!

8. There Are A Thousand More Reasons… If You’re Canadian Show Your Love In The Comments!

Canada is amazing. Truly. We’d love to list all of the reasons why Barack Obama and Joe Biden should do a bros trip to Canada, but we want to enjoy the rest of our week. Ha!

We recommend The Great Canadian Bucket List by Robin Esrock, which has some fabulous things to see, do and experience. And, of course, we encourage our fellow Canadians to chime in below with their suggestions!
