8, rue Saint-Antoine | Québec City, Québec, Canada |G1K 4C9
One of the most well-known boutique hotels in Québec City, Auberge Saint-Antoine is the go-to destination for luxury travellers who want a quiet escape close to Old Québec. It’s a hotel where celebrities and rock stars (and even the Prime Minister of Canada) can move around comfortably and with relative anonymity; where one can relax by a fire to read or snuggle into the soft embrace of their hotel room bed or enjoy live Jazz music on a Thursday night.
We love visiting Auberge Saint-Antoine, whether it is for a staycation, some decadent chocolat chaud in Bar Artefact during the winter months, or to indulge in a gourmet meal at their restaurant, Chez Muffy. Walking into Auberge Saint-Antoine is like walking into a small museum, with pieces of Québec City’s history display in small glass cases throughout the hotel — all of which were found during a mass archaeological dig that took place during the hotel’s construction.
Bar Artefact is located just below the main lobby area and features large floor to ceiling windows, as well as two small sitting rooms with fireplaces. A lovely spot to relax and enjoy a drink or snack during the day or night — in the winter, we highly recommend their chocolat chaud!
The staff at Auberge Saint-Antoine are incredibly friendly, and quite knowledgeable about the city and surrounding areas: Their concierges are among the best in the city (we have used them from time to time to secure hard-to-get dinner reservations)!
Owned by a local family, the Price family, Auberge Saint-Antoine is our top luxury boutique hotel choice.
